Quick Note From the Editor

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I want to encourage you all to attend the Trans Town Hall event (see flyers: english / español) Thursday, April 23. The Center of Excellence for Transgender HIV Prevention (COE), a statewide educational, research, and support body, has a direct connection with the Office of AIDS and is hosting the event.

At these town hall events, the COE offers a unique opportunity to interface with a body that not only works directly with the Office of AIDS, making real change across the state with reverberations across the country, but also to network with many community members and providers in one location.

Health and wellness, and HIV prevention specifically, encompasses so many areas, including medical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and community health, and at this town hall you will meet providers from all of these arenas.

You will also have an opportunity to hear from the Center of Excellence and Community Advisory Board who and what they are, progress on the deliverables, and future expectations. Most importantly, you will have a chance to speak directly with other community members and providers in your field(s) about how to better serve your clients, make yourself available, and offer yourself as a resource to your peers and potential clients.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Alexander Yoo, M.Div., MFTI
